I use the mackie c300 for dj/kj shows. It’s a little to heavy (51 lbs) I do about 5 set ups and 5 break downs a week and if this speaker was 8 pounds lighter it would help. using a cart really makes no difference (loding and unloading the cart) the sound quality is wonderful. the 12 inch speakers give me all the bass I need. I would buy it again. I love that it takes speakon and 1/4 inch inputs. Wich came as a suprise because it is’nt listed as a feature.

It is lighter weight because of the neodymium magnets and the lighter, cheaper class-D amp.

Quality:
As far as class D amp go, this is one of the cleverest designs so far. It compensates very well for the gimmicky limitations of the cheaper Class-D topology.

Value:
The older models are a better value. Neodymium SHOULD cost LESS, NOT MORE. And class D amplifiers are cheaper, not better.

Desirability:
The “I want it” factor depends on how misinformed you are. If you mistakenly believe that neodymium is rare or expensive because it is called a “rare earth” element, then you might be fooled. Also, new “class-D” amplifiers are less expensive to make. Why then, should this new model cost MORE than the older one?

Sound:
Basically, just as good as the previous model.

Ease of Use:
Easy, fast, good.

Support:
Honestly, have you ever tried to get a response from Mackie?

Overall:
I’m certain that this speaker sounds good, just like the old one. I know it weighs a little less. ( 6lbs ) That isn’t worth an extra 20%
