If you’re hoping to bag a bargain as a result of the Credit Crunch, think again.
In a cruel twist of fate – if you were thinking prices would be falling, then – alas – quite the reverse is true.
In the last few months, the humble Pound has weakened against the dollar from 2.00 USD to less than 1.50; in rough terms a 25% fall. So what? I mean, do we really care about foreign exchange when we should be making music??
Well, here goes. This softening of the Pound [note: that's economic speak for it's fallen in value] has now started to ripple through, meaning US sourced goods are more expensive for us Brits. Fantastic news for us that is, for sure.
A good example of this is the Novation x-Station 25, which I’ve been wanting for quite some time; it has risen from an average price of around 270-280 GBP up to a whopping 340-350 GBP; an increase of c. 25%. I am not sure where these retailers think us punters are going to find an extra 25%, given all the doom and gloom about job losses, etc.?
As for me? Well, I’ve postponed the purchase of the x-Station 25 once again! Damn you … global Credit Crunch!
