Well built. very solid, not toy-like.

Value:
Pricey, but well worth it.

Sound:
I tried five 3/4 size guitars by: Taylor,Martin, Ibanez, Yamaha and another one that I can’t remeber the name. Baby Taylor beat all of them hands down. NO CONTEST!! Martin is built like a tank, very solid but the tone is very dull and the others are nothing more than Toys. Baby Taylor is a real instrument, well built with solid top and ebony finger board and bridge. It has a wonderfull action and sound (you can hear the over tones very clear)and an absolute joy to play it. I bought the Baby mahagony which has a warmer tone, two years ago. Since then I have retired all my other standard size guitars including my Taylor 510 (I have small hands). Do not compare the sound of the 3/4 with a standard size guitar, naturally the full size will have a fuller and deeper sound. However the Baby Taylor DOES sound better than some full size guitars. I just whish this guitar had a built-in pickup. Try it for yourself and see.

Ease of Use:
Very nice neck. Electric-fast.

Support:
Have not tried them.

i gave this a nine because it only has two tone knobs and a volume job i think. but i personally like the simplicity of it the sound shouldn’t be altered to much

Quality:

Apparently, extremely well made, though this is a brand new product and only time will tell. Only after being subjected to the rigors of the road will one be certain of the components. Get the warranty!!!

Value:
For the money there are quite a few guitars out there that play as well but are hundreds, if not a thousand dollars less. This guitar is being heavily promoted and the press doesn’t live up to reality. Look around, unless you have more money than common sense.

Sound:
Despite Taylor’s claims that this guitar sounds full when not amplified, the reality is, IT DOES NOT. Without an amp anyone speaking in a normal tone will exceed the volume of the guitar. Amplified, it sings, depending on what you are plugged into. Tube is the way to go. The T5 does play like a dream. The action is suberb and light. Be forewarned, if you do not get this axe from an authorized dealer, Taylor will not provide warranty service. It doesn’t matter if the seller furnishes warranty cards, good wishes or a magic wand, ONLY authorized dealers can provide the goods of a Taylor warranty.

Feature:
The expression system produces accurate acoustic replication – controls a bit sensitive – just need to play with it to find your tone. You can turn on/off various internal pickups and dial to taste for bass/treble/volume. I play a Martin HD28 w/Fishman Matrix 2 thru a Fishman Aura – but there is no need to use it for the Taylor, the expression system is just great.

Quality:
Taylor – quality speaks for itself…guitar was flawless.

Value:
I think for $3500 you can’t find a better guitar anywhere. I used to have a D-45V and this 916ce kills it.

Sound:
Finally – Taylor has produced a CE guitar that compares to a Martin D-standard series. Unbelievably balanced sound and the famous Taylor neck and action.

Ease of Use:
Expression system is fantastic. easy to use and undestand.

Overall:
I would never part with this guitar…I finally mean it when I tell my wife …this is the last guitar I will buy.

Sound:
I was fortunate to have and excellent player audition loads of guitars for me while I got the audience perspective of the sound. I guess commissions do motivate. Martins, Breedloves, Taylors, Guilds, Gibsons, Seagulls, Rainsongs (surprisingly nice sound BTW) and who knows what were played for me. What a treat. The GS was my hands down choice although some of the $3k dollar guitars were fabulous. I chose on the sound and didn’t pay any attention to the looks until later. Mines spruce and maple with the 2 piece back. Some had the 3 piece back, but I prefer the 2 piece. Gorgeous looks and feather light. The perfect fitting case is just beautiful with a fake gator skin texture and gold hardware (5 latches and a lock). I usually don’t care much about pampering a case but I know I’ll feel bad about beating this one up. Nice and loud, articulate and well defined with chimey highs and ringing mids. Not the least bit harsh like some maple guitars and I prefer the slightly brighter character of this guitar over the rosewood model. Lots of smooth bottom end that doesn’t get at all muddy or boomy. Doesn’t compress or rattle when strummed hard. In fact the dynamic range of this guitar is quite remarkable and I look forward to the sound aging. The action is medium low and the 1-5/8″ wide neck is my personal preference. Two flaws I can find are a small indentation beneath the finish on the peghead near the d string post and one of the the ribbon bindings falls short of the rear block by about 1/4″.
