The Waldorf effects are a good touch to the program however I find myself looking for an excuse not to use HALion because of its harsh cheap user interface.

Steinberg tries the customer top value for mediocrity again. This program is rivaled by free ware programs on more than one instance.

HALion sound just as as good as any other sampler on the market.

Not easy…. Steinberg just isn’t easy….. however I am now a man of stronger character.

Steinberg has a forum. We all know how dedicated and customer service oriented forums are.

The fourth addition should be coming around soon and i can wait to see some Yamaha inspired tech in the new version (that is if they don’t do the smart thing and upgrade HALion one to full capacity (drag and drop on window sample editing, effects and slicing.

Great for surround mixing and mastering. Setting up for midi and audio recording is a real snap; just like a hardware recorder.

Nuendo never freezes and it has no evident bugs that I have found. The look and “feel” can’t be beat.

If your serious, and you don’t want to spend huge on Pro Tools, this is the best way to go.

The best in every way. Full featured color schemes and window sizing, and the best file architecture I have seen to date.

There is no support. No technical support phone numbers are available. They don’t want to be bothered by you.
Overall:
An internet connection is required for activation. Why would anyone connect their studio system to the internet? I’m certainly not going to risk anything on my studio system to an internet virus. Steinberg needs to think ahead more and provide much better technical support (like being able to contact them), and other product activation options.

In my humble opinion its the best DAW out there, especially for VSTi midi orchestration and mockups.
Quality:
I have compared them all. This is the best. Rule of thumb, don’t buy a DAW for its plugins and other “throw in the box” gimmicks and giveawya like other companies do. Plugins are a dime a dozen and should be purchased on their own. This is a recording platform and it is the best one on the market.
Value:
Simply the best audio engine, midi editing, audio editing and work flow. VST implentation is the best there is.
Desirability:
Its got the best lookinhg interface out of all the DAWs on the market.
