Feature:
Not much, but extras aren’t too expensive, so, all-in-all a decent deal. I got the 8GB Memory Stick for a little over $100.00. Doubles the recording time.
Quality:
Excellent.
Value:
Very good value for the price.
Desirability:
Compact and rugged and good looking.
Sound:
Sound is excellent. Very sensitive, so don’t move or touch it while recording or else you will get serious distortion. Better than the Marantz IMHO.
Ease of Use:
Once you read the manual, it works as advertized.
Support:
Don’t really know – haven’t had to contact anyone yet. Frasnkly, I seriously doubt I wiil.
Overall:
Will be a keeper for sure. Don’t think you can go wrong with this product if you are into recording meetings, and other such speaking events.
Unlike consumer MP3 sketchpads, the professional HD-P2 incorporates high-end features like a SMPTE timecode input for synchronization to external devices while in record or playback. When recording, the HD-P2 writes time-stamped Broadcast WAVE audio files that can be loaded into your DAW projects with sample accuracy. Its XLR microphone inputs include phantom power and a limiter to curb distortion during unpredictable live events. The user interface has been designed for fast and intuitive use under stressful one-take-only situations, and its large, angled LCD is perfect for any application from over-the-shoulder location recording to concert recording and commercial use.

Feature:
if only supporting up 8 gbs is a feature
Quality:
all plastic case, screen scratches easily.
Value:
Personally I don’t think its worth the money knowing now that the unit does not record past 8 gbs on cards larger than 8gbs. If you try it will lock the unit up, which requires a restart.
Desirability:
I loved it when I bought it, bought a 16 gb CF card when they came out excited to have longer record time at the highest resolution only to be severely disappointed the unit locks up when recording more than 8 gbs of data.
Sound:
Low noise floor, sounds very good at 24 bit resolution
Ease of Use:
quick and easy to get rolling.
Support:
Tascam refuses to respond to emails inquiring if they will ever increase the compact flash capacity the unit can handle. This recorder will only record up to 7.99 gbs of data on cards larger than 8 gbs. Save your money and buy a recorder from a company that actually thought ahead about larger capacity cards.
Overall:
I am looking to replace this as soon as I can afford it with a unit capable of recording to higher capacity compact flash cards. This is a deal breaker for me, all the other bells and whistles are nice but when a company refuses to discuss the storage capacity issue any longer they really don’t care about the end user and only about their bottom line.

Feature:
I mainly have been using this for stereo recordings, for which it sounds awesome. The tuner appears very accurate and the speed function is great for transcribing solos. The FX are clean and accurate, maybe a little noisey. I haven’t used the overdub function.
Quality:
So far so good. Smart looking and appears durable.
Value:
Great bang for the buck.
Desirability:
Its sexy
Sound:
Outsatnding quality at the 24 bit setting to .wav
Ease of Use:

Overall:
I ‘ll give it a nine. Theres always room for improvement, but it appears to all be little things to me. Its main function is as a stereo recorder and as that it is Great!

Feature:
This recorder is for capturing those hot gigs. In MP3 mode you get a lot of recording time and it sounds pretty good. I played back our recording through our studio monitors and I was impressed! Recording in CD format sounds great but eats alot of memory.
Quality:
It feels like it’s built well.
Value:
Much better than some of the other products.
Desirability:
Much bigger than ipods but it’s a broadcast recorder for radio, tv, and musicians to capture live recordings.
Sound:
I set up a couple of condenser mics and placed them in the middle of our brick wall 12×14 practice room and recorded our band at MP3, and WAV. The sound was so awesome! If you use the internal mics they are for lower sound pressure levels. NOT Rock-n-Roll. However if you use an inexpensive condenser mic or better, it will sound great.
Ease of Use:
Read the manual and it’s fairly easy to use. I got the manual out, hooked up a dynamic mic and followed the manual.

Overall:
Our band is planning on recording many performances in the future. hopefully for the next several years.

Ease of Use:
Roland’s product description for this adapter is deceptive. What they don’t tell you is that it won’t connect the R-09 directly to a mic stand. In fact, you have to buy the optional case and tripod (list price $79.99) and use the adapter to connect the case to the mic stand.
Support:
I attempted to get the company to acknowledge and correct the deceptive description. I was told that a customer service manager would phone me to discuss it, but no one ever celled.
