Feature:
Rugged covering, handles are flush, easy to carry two at once.

Quality:
I’ve been using them for over a year as keyboard monitors weekly at local blues jams, where stage volume levels get WAY too high. I often push them to what my Yamaha EMX5000 can bear, and they’ve held up wonderfully.

Sound:
Clear, crisp, defined, flat, surprisingly good for a speaker with 99 dBSPL efficiency. Wide angle throw, suitable for monitors; less effective when used as mains unless the venue is pretty small (say, 100 people). Sound great as keyboard monitors, esp. for piano, which is very demanding, being very peaky. Also sound great playing CDs, thanks to full range, tight, clear sound. Powered speakers can sound better thanks to being biamped with ideally matched power amps, but at a steeper price.

Overall:
If they were stolen, I’d go out and replace them with the same, no hesitation.

Quality:
Out of the 4 we have, one has had some screws work loose. While procrastinating on fixing it, we used a passive JBL Eon 1500 as its replacement. I prefer the Fender.

Sound:
Lightweight, small, more than adequate in most situations. We’ve used them in small clubs and on outdoor stages playing to 25,000 people at a peace rally. Once we did sound for a few bands, and a notoriously loud band’s lead guitarist wanted bigger monitors. Our sound guy said “try them for one song, and we’ll switch ‘em out if they’re not good enough”. The guitarist was smiling throughout the song, and ‘fessed up after the show that he was impressed. I’m a 50 year old drummer, been playing since I was 9 & we did Johnny Winter covers, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Airplane, 10 years after… LOUD. Even after that, I can hear everything through this monitor.

Ease of Use:
Plug & play. Literally.

Overall:
Did I mention “lightweight” and “small”?

Feature:
Handle, 2-way connectors, grille, carpet covering, pole mount. Not much more I could ask for.

Quality:
We’ve been using it for 2 years (one gig a month) and haven’t had a problem with it. We’re actually looking to buy a second one.

Value:
This is good value for the money. You can buy cheaper if you don’t use it too often or you can buy more expensive ones if you gig heavy and you’re very particular about your monitors.

Desirability:
Floor monitors aren’t supposed to be sexy. They’re supposed to be invisible to the audience.

Sound:
My band has been using it as a floor monitor and it does the job.

ElectroVoice TX1122FM TourX Monitor (1x12 in.)An undeniable combination of functional good looks, compact design and engineering breakthroughs, Tour X FM will redefine the world of stage monitors for years to come. Harkening back to the globally accepted EV FM series, the TX1122FM and TX1152FM take that legacy and advance it with a healthy dose of innovative ElectroVoice engineering. The most notable innovation is the split baffle design with patent pending SST (Signal Synchronized Transducers) technology. A split baffle creates two very important benefits: moving the acoustic origins of the compression driver and woofer close together, and the split in the baffle becomes the port, allowing the entire enclosure to become much more compact. The result is “signal synchronized” with near perfect phase summation!
