Feature:
Polarity can be switched, so compatible with Yamaha

Quality:
Doubts… not obvious, but I think choice of materials could be better.

Value:
Competition is in a very close price range. I did not try the other pedals, besides the one delivered with my Yamaha stagepiano. I play electric guitar for many years, used to all kind of pedals, but never experienced the cliking sound irritating as I did with this one. Different ballgame perhaps, but still…

Sound:
The pedal works well, however the hard plastic buffers both up and down are irritating noisy.

Ease of Use:
Touch and feel are good

Feature:
it has a polarity switch and pedal works as on/off or momentary switch

Quality:
its very durable and feels sturdy, I have owned it, gigged with it, used it nearly everyday for 8 months now and no problems

Value:
I am buying another one for my synthesizer, great value, inexpensive but well made, very sturdy compared to other brands

Desirability:
its a sustain pedal, you either need one or you don’t

Sound:
doesn’t make sound its just a new switch to do something the keyboard already does

Ease of Use:
put your foot on it, its pretty simple, I have used it as a sustain pedal and a momentary switch for leslie speed on my hammond

Support:
haven’t needed any support

Overall:
if it breaks I will buy another one, but it has been gigged with and dropped and it sill works like normal

Feature:
on – off

Quality:
It’s a fairly well made product, pretty durable materials, but not that well designed.

Sound:
I got one of these with my Roland ep-90, shipped together from the factory. Unfortunately, it squeaks when you depress the pedal, and it clacks when you let go of the pedal if you are not careful about how you slide your foot off.

Ease of Use:
plug it in…

Support:
never has to deal with Roland

Overall:
I haven’t tried other pedals yet, but just comparing prices, I can’t see why this pedal should cost more than other more moderately priced universal damper pedals. The non slip base does not prevent slipping at all. It’s made from a hard rubber that doesn’t grip the floor very well. I occasionally have to open up the pedal to adjust a little tiny part that slips out of place and causes the pedal to stop functioning – very annoying. The silver pedal part that your foot presses is a litle slim, so it doesn’t have the most natural feel if you’re used to playing an acoustic piano. On top of that, the pedal is noisy. I would have expected more from Roland, because I just loooooove their pianos!!

Quality:
Piece o’ junk, I’m sorry to say. I LOVE my M-Audio keyboard, but this pedal is a sorry afterthought. The rubber pad dislodges with use. The little screws on the sides work their way out with use. Aaargh.

Ease of Use:
Almost impossible to make this thing work. Fuss with it all day and you’ll find that once in a while it works like a pedal, otherwise you must press with superhuman strength and even then it works only sporadically.

Feature:
Compact and easy to carry round. Fits into the pocket of my gig bag easily. Has a sticky bottom so it doesn’t slide round.

Quality:
Pretty solid, hasn’t fallen apart, which is helpful.

Value:
Extremely cheap for a sustain pedal, and does it’s job well.

Desirability:
Doesn’t look like most sustain pedals which look like pedals on a piano. It’s a black box which i think looks better than the traditional piano pedals.

Sound:
well, it doesn’t produce sound, i’ts a pedal fool!

Ease of Use:
Just plug in and you’re away.

Support:
Haven’t had to deal with Roland yet.

Overall:
This will do me fine for a while. If it broke or was lost, i’d probably buy another, it’s just so cheap.

Feature:
On – Off what more could you want? …

Quality:
Typical Yamaha indistructable quality.

Value:
Price is on par with other items of the same type. I chose this one over the others for Yamaha’s high-quality reputation.

Desirability:
I would have liked to have the option of a two or three pedal ganged set for piano (soft, sost., sustain) in one housing. They do tend to wander about on the carpet (and other flooring surfaces).

Sound:
What a category for a pedal! … but useful. This is Yamaha’s weak point on this one. Squeak, squeak, squeak. Down pedal, up pedal look at it funny and it squeaks. Kind of negates the point of having a digital piano with headphones for late night practice if the pedal wakes the neighbors. I’ve got four of them, they all behave the same.

Support:
Yamaha has a many websites for product info and help. I don’t expect I’ll ever need tech support for the pedals. But I use them often for my keyboards and wish-list. Documentation is always clear, and they maintian a library of manuals for their discontinued models too. Many sites are a mixed blessing. Sometimes information is available only on a specific country site.

Overall:
I’ve got four of these dohickeis … the plan is to gut three of them and reassemble those in a wooden box for use with the piano. The other one stays in the gig bag for use on the road.
