TASCAM’s MP-GT1 is the first MP3 player designed for musicians. Based on the award-winning CD-GT1mkII, this fun mobile guitar trainer includes enough memory to store up to 240 songs. Guitar parts can be slowed down, looped and even eliminated to help you learn new riffs. Play back MP3s using Variable Speed Audition, which slows down the speed without changing the pitch, and sections can be seamlessly looped while practicing tricky passages. Songs can even be pitched up or down to match the tuning of your guitar, so you don’t have to re-tune for every song.

Feature:
External non usb power supply INCLUDED would be nice. Swappable/expandable memory. 1/4 out would be cool. the buttons and wheel are EASY to learn. Picked it up in 5 mins without touching the manual. Seems a bit odd to use the ‘guitar cancel’ feature. Maybe I don’t have it 100 percent figured out yet, but was only able to REDUCE some guitar sounds, not cancel them. Again, this may be my lack of knowlede of the unit, or how the MP3 files actually ‘store’ guitar ‘tracks’… Its a sturdy little unit.
Quality:
Sturdy exterior. Looks like it will take a few drops and kicks no problem.
Value:
Fairy nice. More memory would justify its current price.
Desirability:
Kicks butt over the old CD trainer, that seemed slow and laggy.
Sound:
sounds great. The quality of the mp3 should determine this.
Ease of Use:
WAY WAY easy to use.
Support:
Havn’t needed support. This is my first Tascam product too.
Overall:
Suits its description very nicely.

Feature:
It’s easy to set up and play. The selection knob was a pain though for live use. I’d like to see Boss re-release this pedal with a digital display, since you’re able to switch patches with an external pedal.
Quality:
one BIG omission by Boss that needs to be addressed. When you use an effects chain or A/B switch BEFORE this loop pedal, the RC20XL tends to mute itself–the only fix is to reset the pedal by unplugging it. Unacceptable for any live use. Another issue is the battery feature. Although it takes batteries, they start to wane after about an hour of steady use. Why not just skip the battery feature and include a power supply?
Value:
I was not that impressed after buying it.
Desirability:
This pedal would be fine for a solo artist with a simple setup IMO.
Sound:
It’s a digital loop pedal – there’s no change in tone or sound. The reverse feature is way cool though.
Ease of Use:
Not that great. I still had to refer to the manual after a week of using it.
Support:
I returned this product a week after I bought it.
Overall:
I wanted this product when it was first released. After using it for a few days, I realized it’s not right for my live acts where I use a variety of pedals and switches. I think I’ll wait until the price drops or someone releases a better version.
For those awaiting the arrival of a new industry-leading looper, the wait is finally over. Introducing the RC-50 – the most feature-laden Loop Station BOSS has ever built. It’s the best live looping tool ever built for that matter. Housed in a spacious seven-footswitch floor unit, the RC-50 lets you manipulate three stereo phrase tracks simultaneously, with each track supporting multiple overdubs. In other words, you can record phrase upon phrase, one by one, on each track, resulting in a monstrous stack!

Feature:
If you are creating a loop and you change the tempo (speeding the loop up for example) you are unable to add anymore layers. Furthermore, it would be nice if it had MIDI support to lock in a time code from other devices.
Quality:
Has a very solid feel. No complaints.
Value:
The price is similar to comprable loop pedals.
Desirability:
As a solo performer, a loop pedal can add tons of depth to your sound. I t’s also a fantastic device for practicing, and has made me a better player.
Sound:
*UNLIKE* the Boss RC-20, I do not notice any degradation of sound quality with the Jamman.
Ease of Use:
Very simple to use.
Support:
I have not needed support.
Overall:
This is a much better pedal than the Boss RC-20.
No one creates Loop Stations like Boss. Already in heavy demand around the world are the twinsize Boss RC-20XL and the deluxe, extra-wide RC-50. Now comes an ultra-compact member of the RC family, the RC-2. Housed in a compact-pedal case, the RC-2 puts a surprising amount of features in a stompbox.

Feature:
It did not come with any accesories, but one of the best and most useful features I think is that you can tap the beat for the drums.
Quality:
It’s a regular Boss pedal and I have had good experience with them. I think if you were to smash it into a wall or the ground a few times a knob would probably break off. But I am guessing that people don’t do that on purpose….
Value:
you said in short, so yes.
Desirability:
I don’t have that much money at this point in time and this is cheaper than the other loopers out there. But the look of it doesn’t make you want to steal it.
Sound:
it does not change the sound of the iinput.
Ease of Use:
You should definitely read the instruction manual on this one. once you read a little bit of the manual you are good to go.
Support:
Before it came out, I emailed Boss to ask them on what date it would come out, and they still haven’t emailed me back.
Overall:
I will be satisfied until it breaks.

Value:
250 dollars isn’t chump change, but what you’re getting is a quality product that is FUN and easy to use!
Desirability:
Blue is always cool and it is not a bad shade of it either! It has straight forward styling and that is what i like.
Sound:
The quality used in making this product is exceptional. The loop feature is a lot of fun. It is a great beang for the buck product. I’ll be getting one as soon as i can afford it (i am only 15 so money is limited but this product is still affordable).
Support:
I haven’t had to deal with the company, because the products have always been quality.
Overall:

Feature:
That Mark button is great. It allows you to mark your brightest ideas and makes it easier to find them later.
Quality:
It’s made for good! Looks and feels solid, doesn’t feel like it’s going to break if you breathe on it.
Value:
It’s worth much and much more than it costs.
Desirability:
Oh yeah, it’s appealing. I was going to buy new practice amp, after 3 months of deciding which one I want to buy I finally made my mind. Went to the local store with $100 in my pocket. And then I saw this little thing just sitting on the shelve, fell in love with it and bought it instead of new amp. So now I’m stuck with my crappy amp, but I don’t regret buying this recorder.
Sound:
Sound quality is great, it doesn’t add digital feel to the sound as some digital recorders do. I usually play in my headphones, so I put this devise after the amp and plug headphones directly into it. That way it captures not only the sound of my pedal, but also the sound of the amp.
Ease of Use:
If you ever owned a CD player or an iPod and you know what the Play and Rewind buttons mean than you’ll be fine.
Support:
N/A
Overall:
It’s a very handy little thing. As a beginner I find this recorder very helpful, cause I can record up to 12 hours of my playing and than analyze it and work on whatever is wrong. I also try to come up with my own riffs and licks and this device is always captures my best and worst ideas.

Feature:
Everything you could want is there , seperate outputs , loads of sounds and easy to manipulate them.
Quality:
Seems robust and easy to use.
Value:
Maybe could be lower but its ok.
Desirability:
Everyone who I’ve shown + played it to wanted one , so that about sums it up!
Sound:
If you have Line6 gear you know what to expect, loads of metal / overdrive sounds and maybe a too few strong clean ones. But , on the whole it gets the creative juices flowing so thats cool in my book.
Ease of Use:
Push button , twist dial , its all well laid out and easy to use.
Support:
Hated opening it up to find you have to upgrade to new version before you can use SD card.
Overall:
Does everything you would wish it to do , and its FUN!! , only hassle is getting upgrade before you can use SD card.

Feature:
No screen. This ain’t no ipod. You basically need your computer if you are not playing back small sections. Weak section identification. Rechargable battery is the best feature – good for environment and wallet. However, couldn’t tell you if their claims of 8 hours are true, or if the battery gets a memory. What? No half speed? Not even half speed with pitch constant? This is supposed to be for musicians? There is even free software on PCs which can do it. You couldn’t put one button which plays back at half speed?
Quality:
Can’t tell – they wouldn’t let me skip rating number. Doesn’t have the solid feel.
Value:
$150 is steep for really basic electronics. A mic, an AtoD chip, and a memory chip, and some buttons to control it. It would be worth $50 and they could still make a big profit
Desirability:
My phone can do most of this, so can quite a few iPOD like devices, but this has no scrolling UI – no window. You need your computer to manage anything.
Sound:
This is NOT a high fidelity recording device, there is very little you can do to try to adjust recording. Ummm – nothing. 48 bit will introduce big quantization noise if you’re not recording live, won’t sound as good with CD, Radio, etc. OK if you’re not using it as a tool to learn from CDs etc. OK to record yourself.
Ease of Use:
easy to use, because it doesn’t do much.
Overall:
There will be cheaper versions out within months
