Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble PedalCountless guitar heroes have embraced the rotary-speaker sound on stage and in the studio. With this in mind, BOSS proudly announced the newest member of its Twin-Pedal family: the RT-20 Rotary Sound Processor. Employing COSM modeling technology, the RT-20 authentically reproduces classic rotary speaker sounds, and beyond. It offers adjustable Rise Time, Horn and Bass speed, and Overdrive — and not just for classic twirl — the RT-20 can be used to create unique overdrive and pulsating effects as well. This pedal also offers a stunning graphical view of the virtual rotors on its built-in display.

So much more than I expected.

Quality:
Very nice.

Value:
You’re getting what you pay for.

Desirability:
It is fun to use in a dark room but that’s not really all that important.

Sound:
Very hard to find but I did. I haven’t even begun to touch the surface of what the RT-20 will do. But there is no doubt. It’s awesome!

Ease of Use:
A bit of a learning curve for me but I don’t have a whole lot of time to put into it.

Support:
Rolandus.co was helpful with a couple of questions.

Overall:
This is a keeper. It isn’t going anywhere.

Keep it simple… two big study knobs that can dial the exact swirl you desire.

Quality:
Perfection… I had to retun TWO Dunlop Stereo Chorus Univibes right out of the box.

Value:
$25 more for exactly what you’re looking for. Don’t try to save money with Dunlop.

Desirability:
It doesn’t look like the champ, but it is.

Sound:
Sounds better than all the Dunlop current incarnations of the Univibe/Rotovibe.

I’ve called VooDoo Lab for other stuff and they’re very cool

I’d be willing to pay more for an ac adapter that’s included with the unit at purchase.

Value:
Big bang for the buck!

Desirability:
This is a must have for any organist’s and/or guitar player’s gig bag. Great for fast set up, short, or limited space gigs. The folks at Line 6 have out done themselves with this one. I’d be glad to do an organ demo using the Roto Machine anytime.

Sound:
As a pro keyboardist and long time Leslie user I am very critical about sound-alikes and modelers. The Line 6 Roto-Machine is by far the biggest bang for the buck for simulating rotating speakers that is or ever has been on the market. The Line 6 Roto also blends well in the mix. Hard to tell that it’s really not Leslie speaker cabs you’re hearing with the rest of the band.

Ease of Use:
Very user friendly

Overall:
The Line 6 Roto-Machine will always be part of my studio and live venue set up.

Feature:
Well, it has two sonic features — chorus and vibrato. It does its job and sounds great; what more do you want in a pedal? Nice bonus: AC adapter is included.

Quality:
Feels like a brick. It’s made of steel. You get the sense that you could beat it with a sledgehammer.

Sound:
Rich, creamy chorus and smooth vibrato. Absolutely silent compared to my Small Clone, and about a thousand times better than the software vibrato/chorus in Logic. I play Les Pauls through various Fender tube amps and occasionally record DI. Sounds great in every configuration, but especially with those gorgeous Fender clean channels.

Ease of Use:
Three knobs, a chorus/vibrato footswitch, and a (silent) bypass switch. It takes minimal experimentation to dial up a nice tone. One-page manual, but you don’t need it.
