Bass, mids and highs are excellant. It all depends on the music and quality of each download to your mp3 player. If you don’t watch out highs can hurt your ear if volume is to high. This is a good thing, that means the sky is the limit with this great product. Midrange and lows are just as good. They are big headphones, they attract attention if you wear them in public (MD in pocket powers them surprisingly well) hope the I have sex appeal even when I can’t hear anymore, won’t be long before I’m deaf!! (did you say something?!!?!?! speak up, I can’t hear you, but i see your lips moving!!)

I tested a lot of sony headphones before buying the MDR7505, just kept on trying progressively more expensive nits until I found headphones that could handle volume and bass without distorting at half max volume when connected to my net MD. The MDR7505 produces fantastic sound, uncovering sounds I have never heard before in well known music. Great for techno, trance, drum ‘n’ bass, and of course heavy grungy rock!

Sony replaced under warranty, 6 months from purchase date, no questions asked, due to damaged earpiece swivel.
Overall:
They’re a bit big to wear around town and at the shops!! Very highly rated by me, the sound is awesome, but I know there is a bigger pair with even bigger speakers, so only a 9 for the MDR7505. I don’t know how people can listen to music through lower quality headphones.
