It’s a mic?

Quality:
German engineering is the best.

Value:
Don’t know why it costs as much as it doesn. It only serves a few purposes.

Desirability:
It’s the best in its class.

Sound:
I’ve done an A/B comparison with the D112 and the Beta52. The AKG won hands down. Both had the same amount of bass response. The AKG just had a little more attack without having to add EQ. Also the Beta sounded a little more honky (unwanted mids). With the AKG, I didn’t have to add as much EQ to get a decent sound.

Overall:
Can’t find anything wrong with it.

Needs stand mounts, but the clips work good also. Just know that if you use the clips, vibrations through the drums vibrate the mics. Rim shots need eqing because of the vibrations (gives a nasty clunk sound), cut off low frequencies below 250hz and youll be good to go (you may have to use automation for drummers who switch between rim shots and snare hits).

Quality:
EXCELLENT MICS FOR THE PRICE! not a better set out there for the price. Great for five piece sets.

Extremely Good Value

Desirability:
nice lookin mics

Sound:
Excellent sounding mics, well worth the money.

Ease of Use:
I rated this a ten because it comes ready to go, as long as you know what you are doing.

AWESOME mounting system – heavy duty

Quality:
I will give a 10 for quality, but i just dont think the 57′s are best choice tom/snare mics because they break if the get hit….next time i am gonna look into Audix for tom / snare mics…….The Beta Kick is Incredible! no problems there. I am also using a Beta 52 above my largest two toms….sounds very full.

Value:
it is expensive to replace busted parts – expensive mics that break – 57 is excellent for guitar amps etc….

Desirability:
kinda chunky…..

Sound:
incredible sound – always –

Ease of Use:
This is my problem….. This kit sets up well and is easy to use, but they have plastic grills on the ends and these are to be used for drums. If you get one mis-positioned and hit it, be prepared to spend some time searching for a new grill – they bust @ 20$ each. I have done this twice now and it sucks busting a $100 microphone open. Also the body of an sm57 can come unscrewed, and that shows up in the sound as a vibration.

next time I will look itno an Audix or Seinhizer mic system – until I find a quality sound and a “Design” for drums…
