Well this unit has all the features you need to mix cd’s. It’s real compact, lightweight and great.

Quality:
I know cost is a priority to Numark, but every mixer I owned from them has bleed through problems, c’mon get it right, even if the product is inexpensive!

Value:
Really good for the features, quality suffers.

Desirability:
Only good for beginners who are low on funds and need bang for the buck but once you learn, you’ll be buying again. Remember the old saying “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is gone”

Sound:
Only one serious flaw, The channels bleed through. Not a problem while mixing but if you are trying to cue a song over dead air or voice, forget it. When I did, people were looking at me like I had the fader up but it was off…. Really sucks because this is a nicely designed unit…but that has been NUMARKS problem for years…..Numark quality is not what it was say 15 years ago….:( Well what do you expect for this price? If you don’t mind bleed through, get this unit, if bleed through bothers you, AVOID because it may drive you insane…..

Has all the basic features you’ll need. It would be nice if it had a connection for a light on the board, ‘though. Looping and buffered anti shock work very well.

Quality:
Here’s the problem. I’ve had two of these now, and had trouble with one of the CD’s players on each unit after just about 200-250 hours of play. First one I sent back, they tried twice to fix it and couldn’t, so they sent me a refurbished one even though first one was essentially brand new. The reburbised one lasted a year before the left CD went out. I had a cd mix 1 that worked great for years, so I don’t know what the problem is with the mix 2.

Value:
Good unit for the price – if it lasts!

Sound:
Sound quality is good for the price.

Ease of Use:
Anyone with an IQ of 10 can work this.

Support:
Couldn’t fix my problem after two tries. Very frustrating.

Points deducted for: (1) The redundant bass & treble controls on channels 1 & 2. There is already a 3-band master EQ and an EQ for the mic input and (2) there is no XLR mic input but ironicaly, it has XLR outputs for powered speakers. CD controls are easy to use and the mixer has the basics that every DJ needs. I like the fact that it has a 3rd channel so you can add an I-Pod or laptop.

Quality:
Despite the rumors I heard about their reliability, I have not had any problems.

Value:
Roadcase should come standard even if the price is more.

Sound:
For basic sound applications, the sound is fine. Bass sounds a little muddy, but the mids & highs are decent. With a sub, it doesn’t matter.

Ease of Use:
It can’t get any easier to use than this.

Overall:
Because of its basic features, the CD Mix 3 is more suited for the beginner or the DJ who only needs to play and mix CD/MP-3 discs. That being said, I purchased one of these for myself as a backup. I use it mostly for my outdoor parties in case it rains so my good stuff does not get ruined and in case I need music in a separate location. Spend the extra $69 and get the optional roadcase (CD MIX Case) so you don’t damage your Numark. In a nutshell, buy one and keep it in your van in case you ever have an equipment malfunction or need a lightweight basic DJ setup.
