Sound:
The sound of this product is directly related to the sound of your guitar rig. This product will not make a crate sound like a leslie or anything like that, but it will enrich the sound of you rig no matter what style you play. this cleans up your clean channel and makes your distortion sound fuller and more crunchy. i do not reccommend cranking both knobs and then expecting it to sound amazing. you have to analyze your sound and then adjust your knobs accordingly.
Overall:
i wll never use another amplifier without this pedal again. it has becoma as permenent as my guitar.

Feature:
It came with an adapter! Most don’t, and it sounds like an original Green Screamer.
Quality:
This is a tight fitted pedal, hasn’t broken down on me after some serious hard gigging with it. Brings a whole new meaning to the term “stompbox”. No cosmetic damage after throwing it around, and after dropping it in a puddle fully submerged, it still sounds great.
Value:
Get this and don’t spend more money on other overdrive pedals. It’s a waste of time.
Desirability:
I own it. I loved it the first time I used it.
Sound:
Sounds fantastic, excellent tone, good highs lows and middles, great for using as a plain boost as well.
Ease of Use:
Three knobs, self explanatory on the labels, easy to step on to turn it on or bypass it. I love it. Easy in and out, clean audio signal both ways, works great with every amp I’ve used.
Support:
Not necessary for something this good.
Overall:
Like I said, buy this pedal and don’t waste any time. It lives up to the name, and I wouldn’t trade for any other overdrive pedal.
The BBE MaxCom is a highly sophisticated dual-channel compressor and limiter with gate; housed in a compact and easy-to-use package. It provides a live or recorded mix with all the clean, clear punch that only a truly professional dynamics controller can. However, the MaxCom is much more than a high-quality, superbly engineered compressor/limiter.

For the money you cannot get even close to these features.
Quality:
I rate the quality at at ten because for one thing it never comes out of the rack so im not beating it up everytime I have a gig. mine is two years old and is in new condition still. All the lights and dials still function as when new.
Sound:
I use my unit strictly for microphone use and has not dissapointed. There is no hum or any noise related to this piece. If you don’t know haow to operate it and just use old nasty cords you will have issues. I spent a couple of hours trying out all of my microphones and it does seem to like EV mics the best, I can get a lot out of them while still maintaining very low feedback. I am buying another one today and will get rid of my tube composer and open up a spot for my new audio technica atw-3141 handheld microphone reciever. Hint; if you want this unit to perform well for you take the time to adjust it by itself while bypassing all other rack components first and use high quality low z cables, I have seen a buch of idiots using high z and wonder why there is noise!

never needed it.

Feature:
5 is not fare, let me say 10. it does ALL IT NEEDS to do with 2 nobs.
Quality:
It looks well made, but in my case it is not true. I may have got a lemon. In any case I will be buying an Aphex 204 Aurual Exciter as a replacement. It is more flexable, and more in-expensive.
Value:
Re-read top.
Desirability:
Check with other owners as to reliability.
Sound:
The product when FUNCTIONING, does an amazing job of “cleaning”, or “tighting” up your sound. I should mention that I use this product in my guitar rack. It is placed in the signal chain (BBE) just after my pre-amp. (GSP 2101Artist) Where the signal the goes to my power-amp,(Peavey Classic 60/60) to, two 4X12 Cabs. (1960) In a stereo system like mine, the difference is amazing. I have a complaint as to the reliability of the product. My left channel is malfunctioning badly. This unit for all intent and purpose is new. I did buy used from a friend who bought a pair brand new. He sold me his spare. I was the first user and it has lived its whole life “racked” and its AC power very conditioned and spike protected. For perspective: My 2101 new 1995, my 60/60 new 1989 orig. tubes. Just to show that it has been pamperd.
Overall:
I would not buy again.

Feature:
The presets (bass, guitar, vocals…) are very helpful when using on individual tracks. Gives you a good starting point… Very simple interface. Easy to use.
Quality:
Its software? I guess quality was High in that it doesn’t crash. I utilizes very little CPU overhead. But It’s effect doesn’t measure up to the BBE 882, 482 or any other outboard unit. So I guess I would give it a 10 for crash proof solid code and a 4 for achieving good sonic results. (Average: 7)
Value:
I’ll use it, but it won’t be one of my goto plug-in.
Desirability:
Yawn
Sound:
I use a BBE 482 in my PA system. It puts a final polish and clarity to my live mix. (Hard Rock Band) In my studio I have a full digital mixer connected via 3 ADAT light pipe connections to my computer which is running Cubase SX 2.0. The plug-in is just ok. It provides a much more subtle effect. Too subtle. I have used it on individual tracks and as a mastering tool during final mix-down. Its ok… Just didn’t give me the polish I was looking for.
Support:
Didn’t need support. This area should have a NA (Not applicable) although it is so easy to use I guess that is the best support you can get. So I give it a 10.
Overall:
This is a very mediocre product. No matter how good the quality and support are, if the product doesn’t accomplish it’s sonic mission, its a dog. Sorry BBE, I love my 482 but this plug-in is a dog.
