Feature:
the only thing i don’t like about it is the power plug jack is too close to the 1/4″ out jack. other than that its easy and strait forward to use to get phar tones a tube overdrive sounds

Quality:
very sturdy metal construction a stomp box you can actualy stomp on

Value:
a bit pricey

Desirability:
clean design, other musicians always notice it, powder black is always visualy pleasing

Sound:
the tone is awesome on this little beast, it truly is a pre-amp in a stomp box.

Support:
n/a never needed it

Overall:
If the price came down on the rack version i would consider replacing it. Other than that I will use this till it dies then probably get another as fast as possible

Seymour Duncan SFX06 Paranormal Bass DI PedalLike all DIs, the SFX06 sports a balanced line out XLR jack (with ground lift) so you can feed a front-of-house mixing board or a recording console with no loss of signal. But that’s where the similarities end, because the Paranormal Bass Direct Box also features 3 bands of active EQ specifically optimized for bass.

Feature:
It features everything that a regular DI has, you know XLR and what not. ALSO it has an active EQ. You can use it to record, play live, or boost your amp.

Quality:
Built like a tank. Throw it. I dare you. It will work like a charm.

Value:
This is where I say, I wish it was cheaper. but hey, it’s worth it.

Desirability:
GORGEOUS pedal. Green and black? Great color. The looks are delicious. Easily the sexiest DI you can get.

Sound:
The sound is great. Basically it boosts your EQ on your amp. And that is a gorgeous output. You also get a slap contour. So go ahead and slap pop your fingers off.

Ease of Use:
It’s three knobs with two activating switches. You got your standard input and output jacks. Power supply jack. and BAM. Standard Bass, Mid Range, and Treble controls. Bypass and Slap Contour switches. You get a custom slap tone with that slap contour. It curves the EQ so that you can slap pop with the proper settings. Nifty, huh?

Support:
Never had to check. But Seymour Duncan? Probably good service.

Overall:
It’s a great direct box. I suggest you get it. I love how it features and active EQ. Nothing to not love. This will last me my entire bass career.

Tech21 SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI PedalAlways thinking of their fat-stringed brethren, Tech21 had to make a 3-channel, programmable, rig-in-a-box for bassists who can’t get enough of a great thing. Like the TRI-A.C. for guitar, you get three hot tones right at your toetips. The all-analog circuitry features the same controls as its single channel predecessor: drive, bass, treble, presence, blend and level. Digital only in its programmability, you just tweak the knobs until you find a tone, double-tap on a footswitch, and it’s saved in that channel. It’s that simple. Three of your faves — to go!

Quality:
all metal ,good knobs and inputs

it may seem kinda steep but overall effect pedals just cover a bad sound, this pedal actually does something about that sound.

Desirability:
its simple yet blends with a rig.not some rainbow colored light show at your feet.

Sound:
very wide range.warm and fat to straight out growl.like being in a music store.

Ease of Use:
just like tuning a radio station ,just listen and turn.

Support:
i had bought mine out of box ,last in the store.the owners manual with presets was not in the deal. i went to theweb site and called the number on the screen and they e-mail the owners manual within 1-2 minutes.

Feature:
The most useful features have been the boost control and onboard individual EQ.

Quality:
This thing’s built like a tank.

Value:
A little on the expensive side. We’ll see if it pays off.

Desirability:
Very practical the way its set up.

Sound:
I use two basses;an Ernie Ball Stingray 4 and a Modulus Flea 5. This box does a great job to equalize the signal sent to my Aphex 661 compressor since the output of these two basses differs by 9 volts.I am also able to fine tune the sound of each bass as needed. Just what I was looking for.

Support:
I havent had to deal with the company yet but I’m optimistic.

Overall:
This was the only product I could find that did everything I was looking for. If I were to redesign this thing I would probably allow each channel the same set up possibilities.

BBE BMAX Class A/B Bass PreampThe BMAX is a high quality bass preamp/processor for the recording studio and on the stage. At the heart of the BMAX is a class A/B front-end, the input of which emulates the loading effect that the input of classic-design tube preamp would present to the bass pickups, and one of the key aspects in the warmth and punch of tube preamps.

good feature set, if it worked well.

Quality:
It hasn’t “broke”

Sound:
HArd to get a good tone. Clips easily even with passive pickups. The compressor introduces noise and oesn’t provide compression that I need. I have dropped back to a dbx unit.

Support:
I called and emailed support about issues with the performance of this unit. I never recieved a call or email back.

Overall:
I am looking now and wish I could return the unit.
