everything a tube head should have and more.
Quality:
This thing is reliable. hasnt failed me in the 5 years I have owned it.
Value:
for the money you cant get a better deal. as I said before aguilar might be better but you have to pay %250 more to get what this amp does.
Desirability:
come on its ampeg and its a classic.
Sound:
This is the thing that has defined my playing. the sonic quality is unbelievible. I have played many other rigs in my time but nothing has compaired to the SVT. things have come close but they always end up leaving a little to be desired. the only thing I can think might be better is the aquilar 680 and you still need a power amp with that and it costs just as much.
Support:
Havent had a problem yet but with other things ampeg has been great.
Overall:
VERY satisfied with this. Been playing with it for years and it just keeps on pumping out the gloryious tube tone that is unatainable but solidstate anything.

Feature:
Its definetly has everything you need to develope your unique sound, its got the 10-band EQ, solid and tube pre-amp and so much more. The only reason i gave it a 9 was for one small thing i felt it could have used which was simply a mute button.
Quality:
TOUGH! first day i bought it, it fell out my car when i got home. it works perfect although i would suggest a rack case just for extra protection.
Value:
Simply cant be beat. its a steal great volume, tone and quality.
Desirability:
I personaly think it looks pretty shnazzy with the speckle pait, and with all the controls infront its looks pro.
Sound:
Very unexpected volume and overall sound and tone for such a small price, it goes great with my Hartke VX410 i bought along with this head.
Ease of Use:
Even though i have had no trouble with the controls, i gave it and 8 for someone who has had no experience using the EQ’s and such. i erge you to read the users manual good. but if have experience the EQ and contour and all the other crazy gizmos you’ll be just fine.
Support:
I heard they were great but i dont this ill have to use them
Overall:
simply awesome deal for its price i never thought it would hold up half as well as it did in terms of looks, sound and quality. Im forever a Harke bass player. love there amps, buy this you wont regret it.

Feature:
I am really glad it has the EQ because it sounds bad in my opinion if the amp is only used with the knobs. I like the limiter also, because my amp is always near full output.
Quality:
Ampeg…
Value:
This is not worth it. If you own an Ampeg 8×10, get something with more power.
Desirability:
I like how it looks on top of the speaker cabinet. Everything matches.
Sound:
Its not my favorite. The tone is very very very “round” which is not what Im looking for. I am able to get a decent “grind” sound by turning the mid knob all the way down and also have the mid frequencies on the EQ all the way down. Also, It isn’t as loud as I thought it would be. Its only 70db at max output at 4 ohms. The bass only goes down to 40 hz. I was quite dissapointed.
Ease of Use:
I took me less than 5 minutes to figure out my tone
Support:
They were nice
Overall:
You also have to break it it to get that famous Ampeg “grind” tone, so be patient if you are buying a new one.

Feature:
The wheels and handle help manage this beast. Without them it would be almost impossible. Still…this cabinet is not for the faint.
Quality:
Pay less…get crap. Your choice, not mine.
Value:
With everything else I’ve owned (Hartke, Sunn, Carvin, Fender), you “pays your money you takes your chances.” Not with Ampeg,
Desirability:
If you’re looking for hot chicks…this thing will help you work out and build muscles, but it won’t attract any. It’s an amp, not a magic lamp. But if you’re looking for the best sound around…if tone and musicality is what you’re trying to achieve, this cabinet paired with an Ampeg SVT-VR is a sure thing.
Sound:
The sound all cabinets aspire to. That classic tone from the past, that nothing else can touch.
Support:
Hasn’t broken yet…the best support I know of, not needing any.
Overall:
Until I cannot handle it anymore, it will be my gig amp. After that…well, it will sit in my basement and be my practice amp until I die or cannot play any more. Life’s too short, why settle for less?

Feature:
as long as you match the stack, this thing in packed with features. of course Ultrabass and smooth have become my best friend. I rumble all of the houses on my block. The VU meter helps you cue in the right volumes.
Quality:
Built very well, it keeps cool, and runs for hours. The VU is a great tool if you know how to use it.
Value:
Definately worth it if you need something fast and still great with quality.
Desirability:
For a 450 watt amp, this thing says come on and do me. I love the fact that you can double the stack If you buy two(why not go for four), and just go from line out to line in easily with no extra buzz.
Sound:
This thing can pack a punch better than the 3000
Support:
Haven’t had any promlems with it at all.
Overall:
I am pretty much stuck with it for awhile, and like I said If you want to really piss people off buy about four of these and link em together and then you can have four stacks with all of their own tone control, or just get power amps. either way this thing can fill a room with low pitch. It could kill if you get four and the acoustics are right.
