Dunlop GCB95F Crybaby Classic Fasel Wah PedalWhen you think about the classic wah-wah sounds of the 60s, you think about American rockers like Jimi Hendrix and British bluesmen such as Eric Clapton. You probably don’t think about Italy. But those Foxey and Sunshine-y guitar tones could not have existed without the Italian company Fasel. Fasel made the inductors that were in the first wah pedals -including the original Crybaby- and those inductors were the key to the pedals tone, sweep, and voice. For years the Fasel inductors were unavailable, and so was that sound. But now you can get that magic tone again, exclusively from Dunlop.

Feature:
The only special thing is the Fasel inductor. Other than that, it’s just an ordinary wah.

Quality:
This is tough because I bought this pedal two years ago, and the first one I got broke on me the same day I bought it. I almost tried something else, but they exchanged it (guitar center) and I haven’t had any problems with this one ever since. Built great anyway, hope you have better luck than me.

Value:
Good buy for great tone. Not a lot of wahs come this cheap, especially for what it offers.

Desirability:
If you like the tone of early Clapton, Kirk Hammet, Slash, or Joe Perry’s wah, then this is it. Hendrix or Page is easier copped with a Vox Clyde McCoy.

Sound:
Classic wah tone. This is smoother than the original crybaby, and less harsh than the Voxes I have used. It has a wide sweep that never gets harsh or muddy. Excellent.

Ease of Use:
Just like any other wah, step down and sing away.

Support:
None with Dunlop, but G.C. was pretty cooperative.

Overall:
Tone this classic doesn’t come from just any wah, so this is a great buy for anyone who appreciates great tone.

Very good idea to have this in you pocket, but I agree that it’s very har to see the display. I think you’d need a lit magnifying glass. the instructions were so tiny I can’t see them at all. if only they’d print them on white paper I could blow them up on my photocopier, but they are printed inside the cardboard insert. A good gadget for someone with 20 /20 vision.
