Toontrack Vintage Rock EZX Expansion for EZ Drummer SoftwareThe Ludwig Drum Company had little idea what was about to hit them in the months following February 9th 1964, The Beatles debut U.S. Television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The band were a sensation and almost overnight everyone wanted to own a set of Ludwig drums just like Ringo’s. In fact, Ludwig were still struggling to keep up with demand when along came another drumming icon John Bonham. As well as his use of the Supraphonic snare drum, Bonham popularized larger sizes, including the 24 inch bass drum similar to the one sampled for the Vintage Rock Brushes and Sticks EZX. This 60’s era Ludwig set belongs to 2khz Studio owner Nick Yeatman and Toontrack was very happy they were lent to them so they could capture that phat and funky Ludwig sound.

Quality:
The reeds went out of tune quick, and some went completely out within just a few months.

Value:
Great product for the price. Good for a short-term beginner harmonica to get hte feel for it.

Sound:
The sound obviously isn’t the greatest, but for a $5 harmonica, it was perfect to learn on and get the feel for a harp.

Ease of Use:
It was perfect to learn harmonica on, felt great and comfortable.

The Marantz PMD620 has a problem with the firmware update. Certain types of SD memory it simply does not like, these including Transcend and Kingston. (Problem did not seem to exist with the original firmware) Any file over several minutes in length (aren’t they all) will not play on your PC until you go back and try to play the file on the recorder itself first. When you do this, a small window comes saying ‘restore’ only then the file will play (Most of the time). Tech support was of no help. Only recommended we don’t use these brands. They also say they have not heard of the problem before. However, if the problem is not known, then how does the recorder know to ‘restore’ the file when you try to play it? This ‘restore’ function MUST be written into the latest firmware update to happen. Naughty, naughty, being deceptive to the customer… I am not discouraging anyone from getting this, it’s just that if a problem exists, (and it’s known by the manufacturer) they have to correct it, or advise to not purchase some types of memory. Quality:
Nicely made. I would have gigged it if I had kept it (see #1 above)

Value:
for only plugged in: fine, acoustically. No go.

Sound:
frankly, the ash top is braced with railroad ties. no vibration. Dead onthe low end. decent high b and e, acoustically, but overall dull. Plugged in, it is fine.
