Feature:
For me, the most useful features are the TRS outputs (balanced jacks), which are the reason I bought it. On the other hand, this card brings no interface-configuration software (all goes hardware), apart from a mini-little ASIO/MIDI config window, nothing else!!

Quality:
Here come the bad news: working exclusively with this card (mother board sound off), my old PC (pentium IV 3,2ghz; 1GB ram) can’t play mp3 (on winamp) with no clics or random stops. Even worse: the cpu load on Ableton Live, or on the included Cakewalk Sonar LE, goes crashing just with 4 vstis loaded!!!. And all these with the UA25EX audio driver buffer at max level… This issue is the key, and, sorry Edirol, but any other thing doesn’t matter when this fails.

Value:
If it worked fine, would be good value. For me: crap.

Desirability:
I wanted it…

Sound:
Very good sound.

Ease of Use:
Can’t deny it’s easy to use. Good on this issue. Clear manual, but very short.

Support:
I’m still waiting an answer from Roland/Edirol Spain…

Line 6 MM4 Modulation Modeler PedalDo you hang out at the airport, just listening to the jet planes woosh-ing overhead? Ever fire up a speaker in a washing machine just to see what it sounds like? Or are you just in love with the sounds of vintage phase shifters, flangers, choruses, and rotary effects? The MM4 Modulation Modeler is the first pedal to give you all those classic sounds, as well as some Line 6 originals in a fully programmable, pro-quality stompbox.

Feature:
Metal case made it rugged. Too bad it crapped out after 6 months’ use.

Quality:
The foot/select switches all loosened up after a few weeks’ use. Don’t know if I could trust this on the road. It died after 6 months’ use on local gigs, one night a week average.

Value:
Don’t know what else there is out there tha compares with it.

Desirability:
Practical. I wanted chorus, tremelo, vibrato, and leslie effect.

Sound:
Sounded great while it worked. I had formerly used an A/DA chorus pedal. This did a fair job of approximating the sound.

Support:
Haven’t tried yet.

Overall:
For now, I’ve gone back to my A/DA chorus which I have had for 22 years. It still works. I miss the vibrato and leslie, but I gotta have chorus.

DTAR Mama Bear Acoustic Guitar PreampFor years, acoustic guitars have relied on pickups for amplification. One problem: Even the best acoustic guitars deliver an oversimplification of true acoustic tone complexity when amplified. Using something called AGE technology, Mama Bear takes your guitar into the digital realm, neutralizes the pickup, and then restores the natural body resonance. The result: now the finest acoustic guitars can sound like, well… themselves. Only louder.

Feature:
Well, it has two sonic features — chorus and vibrato. It does its job and sounds great; what more do you want in a pedal? Nice bonus: AC adapter is included.

Quality:
Feels like a brick. It’s made of steel. You get the sense that you could beat it with a sledgehammer.

Sound:
Rich, creamy chorus and smooth vibrato. Absolutely silent compared to my Small Clone, and about a thousand times better than the software vibrato/chorus in Logic. I play Les Pauls through various Fender tube amps and occasionally record DI. Sounds great in every configuration, but especially with those gorgeous Fender clean channels.

Ease of Use:
Three knobs, a chorus/vibrato footswitch, and a (silent) bypass switch. It takes minimal experimentation to dial up a nice tone. One-page manual, but you don’t need it.

User Reviews:
Feature:
I like the option of the puzzle/foam pieces. When used properly it makes for a very effective fit and protection. I am not a big fan of the latches however. I personally haven’t had a problem yet, they just seem a little weak.

Quality:
If you use the puzzle/foam pieces correctly you get a very durable, protective case. People that have had problems that I know of didn’t have the interior properly configured. These cases have stood up to military deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq just fine.
